#BlackGaySlay: Aja Talks Black Lives Matter, New Music, RPDR All Stars 5 + MORE!
Rupaul's Drag Race is cult phenomenon that has churned out multiple superstars, and I was lucky enough to chat with one of the brightest ones yet!
That's right, we caught up with the one and only Aja; rapper, model, and all around ENTERTAINER widely known for their appearances on RPDR season 9 and All Stars 3. But years after leaving their imprint on the Drag Race main stage, Aja has more than made a name for themselves proving their prowess as a performer and a tremendous talent both on stage and behind the scenes.
I sat down with the 'Kawaii' crooner via zoom call for an in depth talk on the current state of the world amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and more importantly the social uprising of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Being a non-binary black queer person who has inspired tons of people with their fashion, music, and infectious personality, I thought it was imperative to get Aja's take on this transformative time in history and believe me they did not disappoint!
We discussed everything from the importance of protesting, to light skin privilege, Doja Cat, music, and our shared obsession of sad songs and Shea Coulee.
