MORE From the Better Brothers LA 8th Annual Truth Awards! (Videos)

This past weekend we were front and center for the red carpet at the Better Brothers LA 8th Annual Truth Awards. We chatted with some of our favorite noteworthy names and honorees of the night.

Including the incomparable Colman Domingo, who let us in on his hopes for the upcoming season of Euphoria and how he's preparing for his role in the highly anticipated musical version of 'The Color Purple.'

Next, we got a chance to chat with actress and America's Next Top Model alum Yaya DaCosta on her flawless transition from modeling to acting. DaCosta even let us in on one of her dream roles that she would love to take on one day, if given the opportunity.

And the actual embodiment of TRUH takes physical form in the one and only Claudia Jordan who was beautifully transparent about her love for the LGBTQ community, as well as her own her love life and her iconic stint on The Real Housewives franchise.

We then chopped it up with Access Hollywood's very own Scott Evans who served as the host for the night's festivities. Being the media maven that he is, he gave us the low down on what hot topics he needs a break from while shining a much needed light on the issues currently happening in Ukraine.

The night wouldn't be complete without a little Jerrie Johnson. The Harlem star gave us the details on how she and her fellow castmates maintain such powerful on screen chemistry and why it is so important to build not just safe space for black queer people but to also make space to celebrate the community as well.

Of course we had to chat with author Benjamin Carlton who recently released his book 'I'm Black, I'm a Minister, and I'm Gay." Carlton explained why it was necessary to make his voice heard and his desire to break down the barriers of judgement in religious circles everywhere.
