This is America...
This past week, the U.S. border crisis reached a new level of low. Multiple families seeking refuge at the border were met with tear gas. Disturbing images of parents and children in distress fleeing the fumes set social media ablaze. Mainly people online were seen calling out the Trump administration for authorizing the inhumane attack. A few famous faces even took to instagram and twitter to chime and give their thoughts on this vastly unfortunate situation, including Rihanna, Kathy Griffin, Kelly Rowland & many more.
Check out what these celebs had to say after the jump.
Amy Schumer wrote:
"This will not f-king stand. How do you sleep at night after gassing children. It’s legal to seek asylum you  f-king monsters. Happening at the border. Follow @paolamendoza @jessicayellin and @shaunking for true coverage,"
Comedian, Kathy Griffin, who is no stranger political controversy, tweeted:
"These asylum seekers should be welcomed to our country and President Trump should be sent to prison."
It's very important to note that this is not the first time tear gas has been used by government officials to quiet/control an unruly situation--much similar to protests, riots, etc. According to Snopes.com, a reputable fact-checking website, tear gas was even used an average of 1.3 times a month by border agents from 2012 -2016, the final five years of Barack Obama's presidency.
However, just as is many other circumstances, under the scope of the Trump administration we're now able to realize just how flawed our government really is.
Chile, just wake me up when it's 2020
