But it’s not enough for Harriet Tubman just to be free. She wants to kill the “monster called slavery,” one dangerous escape at a time. Yes, this is fifth-grade U.S. history, but it’s a story we should never stop telling. Even if that means actors like Joe Alwyn have to wear ridiculous wigs like this to play slave owners. On top of everything, he’s out here looking like a circus ringmaster and expecting Harriet to respect him? She defies the law and all odds in Harriet, out November 1.
